"UPI QR Payments Now Available for NRIs and Indian Tourists in the UAE"

NPCI International Payments Ltd., in collaboration with Network International (Network), a leading digital commerce facilitator in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, has introduced QR code-based Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payments through Network's point-of-sale (POS) terminals in the UAE.

This partnership aims to offer seamless and secure transaction options for Indian tourists and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) visiting the UAE, as stated by NPCI International. Network International boasts a substantial network with over 200,000 POS terminals across more than 60,000 merchants Spanning Retail, Hospitality, Transport, Supermarkets, and other sectors.

The rollout of UPI acceptance will be gradual, encompassing a diverse array of establishments such as retail stores, dining outlets, and popular tourist destinations like Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates.

By integrating UPI acceptance into its POS terminals, Network International ensures a QR-based method that is both secure and convenient for cross-border payments, enhancing the experience for Indian tourists and NRIs holding Indian bank accounts across the UAE.
